What Happens Right After Birth
Your midwife stays with you through the delivery and the hours immediately after, checking on both you and your baby before leaving you to rest at home. Emotional and physical support continues well past the birth itself.
Your 3-Day Postnatal Check-Up
A few days after birth, your midwife visits to check on your recovery and your baby’s wellbeing. This visit covers your physical recovery, feeding support, and a chance to raise any questions or concerns. Baby vaccines are billed separately and are not included in this visit.
Your 6-Week Check-Up

Cost of Postnatal Visits
Both the 3-day check-up and the 6-week check-up are billed at R700 each (excluding baby vaccine). These are separate from the R15,000 natural birth package.
